Going after your dreams is not just an ordinary phrase. Every person has the opportunity to fulfill what they wish for. Whether his dreams are ordinary or the opposite. To support people and their aspirations, World Dream Day was created and is celebrated every September 25.

The history of the creation

Encouraging people to pursue their dreams, whether they are achievable or unattainable, is extremely important. No one can tell anyone that their aspirations are impossible. After all, many ideas today would remain only in the heads of their creators if they had not taken steps to make them happen.

But not everyone has the determination to go for it, and the driving force for them is encouragement or incentive. For this reason, World Dream Day, which falls on 25 September every year, was established. It was spearheaded in 2012 by educator Oziona Egwuonwu of Columbia University, who runs motivational and strategy sessions.

During this day, all dreamers and visionaries can come together and share their dreams and aspirations that they would like to but are afraid to make happen. The global holiday is meant to inspire them to move forward with the intention of benefiting the world. It reminds everyone that it is possible to reach your potential. After all, after Egwuonwu established the day , she disclosed in an interview that her aim was to “heal and inspire humanity”.

The meaning of World Dream Day

Dealing with uncertainty is perfectly normal. As a result, one may underestimate oneself and lose the courage to pass on one’s dreams and ideas and turn them into reality. This is why the significance of World Dream Day is so important. It should empower anyone who is struggling. It also encourages imagination and inspires out-of-the-box thinking, and highlights those who have succeeded and are exemplary cases of overcoming fear or rejection from those around them. This day should empower us all.

When hundreds or thousands of people share their dreams, they can gain hope by seeing that they are not alone in the same situation. Whether they are beginners or successful people who share their experiences, including the hardships they have faced along the way. This allows all dreamers, innovators and visionaries to connect.

Keep dreaming

Wakeful dreaming plays an important role in everyone’s life. It is something that no one can take away from you and something you should not give up. As Harriet Tubman said, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember that you have within you the strength, patience and passion to reach for the stars and change the world.” If something makes sense to you and you know you can help yourself and the world with your ideas, don’t be afraid to make them happen. Be a dreamer.
