Dirty windows are a long shot. As soon as you wash them, you immediately get the impression that you can see the dirt again in no time. But keeping them clean doesn’t have to be difficult. All you need is a cloth, water and an additive to help them stay clean and smudge-free for longer and shine like diamonds.
Window cleaning as a challenge
Keeping your windows clean is often a duty rather than a pleasure. However, the result is not what you’d imagine. Smudges, drips and endless frustration that your efforts have gone to waste. However, window cleaning doesn’t have to be a challenge that you have to face. Just adding a teaspoon of one ingredient to your water will leave your windows perfectly clean.
Glycerin as a cleaning miracle
The changing seasons leave your windows dull, shineless and dusty in a way that you can’t look at them. And it’s in these autumn days that it’s time to clean them. No need to look for complicated solutions, just use a method that has been known for generations. The magic ingredient is called glycerin, which was used by our grandmothers. This trend is making a comeback as it is really effective. At first it was used to polish mirrors, and gradually its use spread to window cleaning. It is easy to use, just add it to water. Its main advantage is that it is not expensive and it is also eco-friendly and therefore environmentally friendly.

Glycerin is commonly used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. It is a pure, thick substance whose greatest ability is moisture retention. This means that when you use it on a glass surface, it will leave an invisible film on it. This means less dust settles on the windows and they look clean for much longer. At the same time, it doesn’t cause streaks when washing, mainly due to the slower evaporation of water. It is also odourless, non-toxic and therefore safe.
How to wash windows
Washing windows with glycerine is very easy. Prepare a container of water to which you add one teaspoon of glycerin and stir the mixture. Afterwards, swish a cloth in it and use it to wash the windows. Once you’re done, polish them dry. The result will be shiny and clean windows that will last a long time. However, avoid direct sunlight while washing.
