“You look tired,” a compassionate phrase, but one that can feel very out of place. Especially in the case of a woman who looks like she hasn’t slept in a week, but isn’t. Eyelids can look droopy with age. This is because they lose elasticity and also firmness. It’s not rocket science. Gravity and the aging process of the mirror do their thing. Fortunately, however, there are a few ways to combat this.
Try yoga for the face
Yoga isn’t just about exercising on a mat. There’s also what’s called facial yoga, which you can ideally practice in front of a mirror. Just raise your eyebrows and then close your eyes. With your eyes closed, lower your eyebrows. And then repeat this eye exercise ten times. And then you can continue the exercise by placing your index fingers horizontally on your forehead above your eyebrows and sliding your fingers down your eyebrows. Then try to bring your eyebrows back. Use your fingers to prevent this.
Face masks
Of course, it’s not just sagging eyelids that can be helped by face masks. In particular, try those that you create yourself at home. Plain eggs are ideal for your skin. Egg whites improve skin health and treat skin problems. Did you know that egg whites firm, tighten and tone the skin? And that’s without unnecessary harsh chemicals. You can use egg whites on your skin every day.
Another food that can be used not only for food but also for the skin is cucumber. Probably everyone has seen a woman with a cucumber on her eyes. Does it work? Cucumbers can actually help relieve swelling of the eyes. The antioxidants in the cucumber relieve irritation and the coolness is beneficial to the swelling. A cold bag of chamomile tea can have a similar effect. Last but not least, we recommend washing your face with cold water, which constricts blood vessels and tightens the skin.

Droopy eyelids are often caused by stress, fatigue and lack of fluids. Therefore, drink plenty of fluids. Water or herbal teas are particularly important. You can also include fresh fruit or vegetable juices in your drinking regime. Always have a drink before going to bed and drink a glass of water when you wake up. On the other hand, avoid large amounts of alcohol or coffee.
Hydration is also associated with regular skin nourishment with cream. You can of course buy moisturiser, but you can also make it at home. Mixing aloe vera, yoghurt, oatmeal and peeled cucumbers is ideal. Mix everything together to make a thick paste. Apply the cream to the skin around your eyes and leave it on for 20 minutes. Then rinse.
Other solutions for sagging eyes
A great solution for sagging eyes is also to use warmed olive oil. Heating it in the microwave is ideal. Once it is lukewarm, massage it into your eyelids and leave it on overnight. In the morning, wash your face with cold water. This will help improve the elasticity of the skin and rejuvenate the eyelids.
Eating grapes is also healthy for the eyelids. These contain resveratrol, which slows down the aging process of cells. And think about what you eat in general. If your diet is full of sugary or processed foods, try to change that. Include more natural foods and whole grains.
