Mulled wine

Mulled wine belongs with the winter season, and especially with Christmas. A hot alcoholic drink that includes just a slice of orange and a piece of whole cinnamon. Mulled wine also has the typical smell of other spices such as cloves or star anise. And overall, it evokes a feeling of warmth and festivity. It is an aromatic drink that can enhance the atmosphere. Perhaps that’s why it’s popular at holiday gatherings. Many people can’t imagine Christmas without it.

Cinnamon

Of course, cinnamon doesn’t just have to be part of the mulled wine. For example, you can also use it in a hot fruit drink or enhance your tea with it. And it is also a fragrance that can scent the home in a candy or as a scented candle. And let’s not forget fragrance oils. It can be combined with orange, for example. In all its forms.

Orange

The pleasant scent of orange adds to the cosy atmosphere during the Christmas season. Not only is the combination of orange and cinnamon popular, but also the combination with cloves. Incidentally, these two things can be used, among other things, for a fragrant Christmas decoration, where the cloves are pressed into the orange. It looks nice and also releases a wonderful scent. In addition, you can add a candle to the centre of the orange to create a beautiful natural candle holder that can also be used as a self-made gift.

Give the scent in a jar

If you love the smell of Christmas, you can also gift it. It’s simple, affordable and also customisable. The magic of the recipe lies in the layering of spices with herbs. Prepare dried orange slices, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, a sprig of rosemary, star anise and cranberries or goji berries.

Place the largest pieces in the bottom of the jar. That is, the cinnamon and the orange. Then spread out the spices and finally add the sprig of rosemary and the cranberries or goji. The layering looks really beautiful, plus it will release the flavor evenly as it cooks. Then add a label with cooking instructions. Just put in a pot and cover with water. Then cook on low heat. You are giving a beautiful decoration that the recipient can use to scent their home whenever they want.
