The shopping list says milk. But when I stand in front of the cooler and make a long selection, my friend doesn’t understand. I had to explain to him that most of the boxes in the store contain cow’s milk. But I’ve been buying goat’s milk for my grandparents for several years now. And there are a number of reasons for this.
If I’m shopping for myself, I often buy plant milks. I’ve been trying to cut back on animal products for some time now because of my lifestyle. But I know that for my grandparents, goat’s milk is the best. At the same time, I’m not surprised that my friend is confused by my actions in the store. In general, it seems to me that goat’s milk is not talked about as much, which I think is a great shame.
It helps everyone, but especially the elderly.
Goat’s milk is rich in minerals such as calcium and phosphorus. These are easily absorbed and therefore help to strengthen bone structure. This is, of course, advisable at any age, but especially for the elderly.
My grandfather was very active in his youth. He played sports, worked around the house a lot, but never had any major health problems. In recent years, however, he broke his arm several times. Once the doctors even removed the cast from his healed limb, and he was in the office again a few hours later, this time with an injury on his other arm. Simply, his skeletal structure weakens with age, his sense of humor thankfully does not. He made a story out of the situation, which he tells at family gatherings. But besides that, he also started doing something for his health, among other things just drinking goat’s milk.
A study last year shows, among other things, that regular consumption of goat’s milk can slow the breakdown of muscle protein and therefore also reduce inflammation. This means that if you drink goat’s milk more often instead of cow’s milk, it will benefit your muscles, among other things. Last but not least, this drink also protects your intestines because the fats in it are easier to digest.
━━ It contains many vitamins and minerals. Why should you consume goat's milk regularly in older age?

Goat’s milk can be found in specialist shops, often especially those focused on organic food. However, in recent years it has also become increasingly available in regular supermarkets. It’s certainly not as if acquiring it is any great problem.
It is a little more expensive, but if you don’t drink milk by the litre a day, the difference is not that great. My grandparents save every penny, even many healthy things they have to deny themselves. Anyway, they only have milk in their coffee or once in a while with their afternoon cake. Spending a couple of crowns more on it is not such a problem for them.
If you think about the fact that the product is full of vitamins and minerals, supports bones, muscles, intestines, but also the quality of skin or hair, it is definitely not a bad thing to think about this change. If you are one of the older people, a change is definitely in order. But even for younger people, I would definitely recommend considering buying this product instead of cow’s milk.
