The ancient world was full of fascinating empires that shaped human history. Each had its own distinctive features – architecture, deities, leaders and unique approaches to war, art and governance. We know them from history books, documentaries, films and books, but could we identify them by just a few clues? Now you can test just that.

We’ve prepared a fun quiz to test your knowledge of the most important civilisations of antiquity. There are ten questions and three options for each of them. Some will be a breeze, others may surprise you – but all of them will definitely take you back in time, to the era of pharaohs, legions and great empires.

So, will you dare? Put your knowledge to the test and see if you would have stood up as a scholar in the ancient world. And if you succeed, feel free to share the result with your friends.
